Virtual Treatment FAQ

Virtual Urgent Care Visits – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care’s mission to provide our communities affordable, compassionate, exceptional patient care means that we are always developing new services to support the patient experience. That’s why we’ve made it easier to get the care you need, without leaving your home through our new Virtual Urgent Care Visits telemedicine program. Treatment for non-life-threatening illness and injury has never been more accessible, thanks to the use of technology such as a telephone, tablet, computer or smart phone to receive medical care.

What is a Virtual Urgent Care Visit?

At ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care, we use the Doxy.me to connect medical providers with patients to evaluate, diagnose and treat urgent medical needs.

Is a Virtual Visit the same thing as Telemedicine?

Yes. These two phrases are often used interchangeably when referring to the practice of using electronic communications to connect medical providers with patients.

Is insurance accepted for Virtual Urgent Care Visits?

As with any healthcare visit, we recommend patients reach out to their specific insurance provider to confirm coverage prior to their Virtual Visit.

No insurance? No problem! ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care offers Virtual Urgent Care visits through our standard Prompt-Pay program.

What are the benefits of a Virtual Visit?

Virtual Urgent Care Visits allow patients to receive affordable, compassionate, exceptional patient care without leaving their home. This reduces the time and costs associated with traveling for an in-person visit.

What are the limitations of Virtual Visits?

It is possible that you may experience some technical difficulties with your connection or software. It is important to ‘Check Your Tech’ (ensure you have internet access, check power supply, test your video/volume quality, etc) prior to your visit to ensure a successful evaluation. If challenges continue, the visit can likely still be done via a phone call.
ATTENTION: Certain services such as COVID-19 testing evaluation and Physicals (including DOT) are performed in-person at one of our urgent care centers and CANNOT be performed through Virtual Visits. If you’re seeking these type of services, please select a center closest to you to register for an in-person visit.

Are Virtual Visits safe and secure?

Yes. Virtual Visits and associated software are held to the same privacy regulations as in-person medical visits. We are proud to partner with Doxy.me, a HIPAA compliant virtual visit software provider.

Can I make a Virtual Visit appointment?

While we do not offer appointments, patients can save their spot in line. Patients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis, or they can select an available time slot that works best for their schedule.

How do I reserve a spot in line for a Virtual Visit?
