ClearChoiceMD Helping with New Hampshire’s Opioid Crisis: Now Offering Medication Assisted Treatment in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH, NH – ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care, a physician owned and operated urgent care company, will now offer Suboxone Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) at their Portsmouth, NH center, located at 750 Lafayette Road in the Keller Williams Building next to Goodwill. This new service will be offered in addition to their comprehensive current urgent care and occupational health services.
Opioid addiction continues to be an epidemic nationwide. Those seeking treatment have limited options, and many are even waitlisted due to scarce local resources. In an effort to help patients in their communities receive timely care for their addiction, and to begin their recovery, ClearChoiceMD is adding MAT to their services. The treatment will be piloted at their Portsmouth, NH location with the potential for future program expansion to all 10 of their centers located throughout New England.
MAT is a critical tool in the battle against addiction. Timely treatment is essential for recovery and with few options, this has become increasingly challenging. By introducing MAT into the urgent care environment, treatment availability increases, allowing for more patients to be treated sooner. Although appointments will be required for MAT, the convenient extended hours provide greater flexibility for patients seeking treatment.
“Our urgent care model is designed to respond to the medical needs of our communities. We understand that there is a dire need for treatment options and we want to do our part to help,” said Dr. Thomas H. Scott, Chief Medical Officer at ClearChoiceMD. “We believe that by adding Medication Assisted Treatment to our available services, we help our patients find a solution to what we know is a very difficult medical and community crisis”.
ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care will continue to provide their exceptional walk-in medical services to patients of all ages for acute conditions that are not life threatening. They will also continue providing Occupational Health services such as the evaluation and treatment of work place injuries, DOT physicals, drug screens and pre-employment physicals. For these visits, no appointment is necessary.
